Having been otherwise ‘occupied’ – first with a bad bout of bronchitis (at this time of year!) and then with family visitors – I was grateful to fellow blogger William Newton (whose excellent ‘Blog of the Courtier’ is worth adding to your reading list) for bringing to my attention an article about characterful hotels on Mallorca. It was published in The Daily Telegraph’s travel section and features five hotels on this island chosen by journalist Annie Bennett. Missed it? Read about the five featured places here:
In due course I’ll let you know my own favourite five, but I was delighted to see that Annie included Finca Son Jorbo, near Porreres – which is run with great care and enthusiasm by friends of ours. It’s not the first time they’ve featured in The Telegraph. Here’s a link to an article I wrote about their exploits when they decided to produce oil from their own olives:
If you’ve stayed on Mallorca and enjoyed a hotel of great character, I’d love to hear about it.

You will have to try hard to find nicer people than Annie and Martin on Mallorca!
Very true. Sometimes I wish I was a holidaymaker, just for the excuse of going to stay there!
