Fans of the tapeo – wandering from bar to bar enjoying a few of the tasty snacks known as tapas, with a drink – shouldn’t miss TaPalma, the annual tapas fest in Palma. You can always find tapas anywhere in Mallorca’s capital city (and elsewhere on the island), but this four-day event is rather special, in that participating establishments compete to create the most innovative and tasty tapas.
TaPalma gives us, the nibbling public, the chance to vote for the best tapa and the chef responsible gets a feather in his cap (or not, as that may be unhygienic in the kitchen. Isn’t English a funny language?). So, expect something a little more creative than Russian salad or a date wrapped in bacon. (Of course, date here is the fruit, not the person you’re out with for the night; that would be too weird).
This year’s event will be the 13th edition of TaPalma and, unusually, the dates have been announced well in advance: October 16th-21st, 2017.
