Following the success of last year’s inaugural Mostra de Vins Casolans, the event was repeated this year under the title of Festa del Vi Casolà: a chance to try home-made wines from a number of local winemakers and delicious tapas prepared by Nofre Brunet Pascual and his team at El Palau Café in Manacor.
Last Saturday evening we were part of a large crowd of locals who paid five euros each for a number of tastings of wines from the various stalls in front of the church, and also two tapas from a choice of seven creative tapas displayed in El Palau. Additional tapas were available at just two euros a dish and, given the quality of these delicious snacks, we couldn’t resist indulging in extras.
The wine producers who shared their wines (usually made mainly for family and friends) came from Manacor, Vilafranca, Felanitx, Petra, Montuïri, Binissalem, and Moscari. It would be fascinating to see some of these producers’ cellars…
